What a memorable evening at the WRVC Awards Ceremony held on Thursday, May 21! We were honored to celebrate students from all 14 of our programs as they received completion and participatory certificates recognizing their hard work, growth, and accomplishments throughout the year. The evening was filled with pride, gratitude, and excitement for the bright futures ahead of our students. Here's a link to the recorded event.
The event began with a Color Guard presentation by volunteer Criminal Justice students, proudly coached and supported by Officer Kopp along with our National Guard partners, SFC Nick Haskell and SSG Nick Daigle. Followed by two heartfelt student speeches from Lorelai Noonan and Nicholas Elliott.
We also celebrated that our students achieved an outstanding milestone through concurrent enrollment opportunities this year. Across the University of Maine System and the Maine Community College System, our students completed 227 course registrations with the earning potential of 667 college credits! These accomplishments reflect the rigor of Career and Technical Education and the dedication our students have shown in both their academic and hands-on learning experiences. A special shoutout to Mrs. O'Toole, our school counselor, for her work with the Maine Bridge Academy and our post-secondary community and state colleges for supporting these opportunities.
We are also incredibly grateful to share that more than $65,000 was awarded through generous scholarships and toolship donations. These contributions will make a lasting difference as students take their next steps into the workforce, apprenticeships, military service, and post-secondary education.
To all of our donors, thank you for believing in our students and investing in their futures. Your generosity provides opportunities, removes barriers, and empowers students to confidently pursue their goals. Your support truly changes lives, and we are deeply appreciative of the impact you continue to make.
Thank you as well to our WRVC staff, sending schools, families, and community partners for the encouragement and support you provide every day. The success of our students is a reflection of the strong community standing behind them.
And to our incredible students, you continue to impress and inspire us. Your passion, kindness, and work ethic are evident in all that you do. If anyone questions whether today’s students are prepared for the future, they only need to spend one day at WRVC. You have shown us what is possible through dedication, skill, and heart.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and all of our award recipients! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see where your journeys lead next.
