WRVC recently welcomed an incredible group of visitors from BRUNT Workwear, a company known for supporting the skilled trades. During their visit, the BRUNT team donated a portion of the more than 120 pairs of like-new work boots to students in Automotive Technology, Building Trades, and the Electricity programs. Please watch Channel 13's news story!
The generous donation helps ensure that students entering the trades have access to the safe, durable footwear they need for shop work, industry placements, certifications, and future careers. By removing this barrier, BRUNT is helping students feel prepared and confident as they take their next steps into Maine’s workforce.
Three members of the BRUNT team spent more than five hours on campus connecting with students and staff, distributing boots, touring programs, and learning about WRVC’s hands-on training. The visiting team included Jeremy Perkins, Head of Community Relations, along with Cameron Goodwin, Community Relations Associate, and Will Cappola, Senior Associate Content Producer. Jeremy, a Coast Guard veteran and former diesel mechanic, shared his own journey in the trades with students and even offered to join WRVC’s advisory committee to continue supporting the programs.
Students were thrilled to receive their new boots and proudly wore the BRUNT hats and t-shirts generously provided during the visit. The excitement throughout the building reflected just how meaningful this experience was for students preparing for careers in the skilled trades.
WRVC is incredibly grateful to BRUNT Workwearfor their generosity, their time spent with students, and their commitment to supporting the next generation of skilled professionals. Partnerships like this demonstrate the powerful impact that can happen when industry and education come together to invest in students and the future of the trades.
We also want to thank Channel 13 and Nate for covering this feel-good trade story!
