Charlotte Caron

Congratulations to Charlotte Caron, who has been recognized as this year's Maine Art Education Association High School Art Educator of the Year. This is a prestigious statewide award given annually to a stellar art teacher at the high school level. As a third year teacher, Charlotte has brought an incredibly well honed skill set to WHS. Our students are extremely lucky to have access to such an amazing educator.

Specializing in 3D and sculpture, Charlotte inspires students to create dynamic work through creative projects, while teaching the fundamentals of art and design. Charlotte also has a strong connection to area artists, museums, and even MECA, which has benefited our students tremendously, as they have participated in trips to galleries and college programs, as well as visits from practicing artists.

The MAEA President had this to say about Charlotte's contributions...

Your commitment and dedication to the continued advancement of art education at Westbrook High School, just within your first three years of teaching, is to be commended and we are happy that we can celebrate this with you, your community, and the state.
