Boots from BRUNT

Recently, BRUNT Workwear made a generous donation to WRVC that helps ensure that students entering the trades have access to the safe, durable footwear they need for shop work, industry placements, certifications, and future careers. By removing this barrier, BRUNT is helping students feel prepared and confident as they take their next steps into Maine’s workforce.

Three members of the BRUNT team spent more than five hours on campus connecting with students and staff, distributing boots, touring programs, and learning about WRVC’s hands-on training. The visiting team included Jeremy Perkins, Head of Community Relations, along with Cameron Goodwin, Community Relations Associate, and Will Cappola, Senior Associate Content Producer. Jeremy, a Coast Guard veteran and former diesel mechanic, shared his own journey in the trades with students and even offered to join WRVC’s advisory committee to continue supporting the programs.

Students were thrilled to receive their new boots! The excitement throughout the building reflected just how meaningful this experience was for students preparing for careers in the skilled trades. Partnerships like this demonstrate the powerful impact that can happen when industry and education come together to invest in students and the future of the trades. THANK YOU BRUNT!
